Our Beginning
We have been working with Contractors, Homeowners, Manufacturers and Municipalities for over 35 years to improve the energy efficiency, heath and sustainability of America's homes. We began in the construction industry building and remodeling homes and we always sought out better products, better installation methods and the Building Science to back it up. We were one of the first multi-certified home performance contractors in the State of Illinois, even before they enforced an energy code. I realized back then, that it's not enough to simply say you are better than the competition, I wanted second and third party verification and science to back it up. We were proud to be nationally recognized by many major trade magazines, newspapers and television. We also received numerous awards.
Our Evolution
In 2004 I temporarily closed my business and moved out to New York as they were leading the country with energy efficiency and building science programs. I trained sales teams for windows, roofing and siding while I stacked up certifications as a Building Analyst and Envelope Specialist through the Building Performance Institute and as a Home Energy Rater through Resnet. I quickly became a technical advisory panel member working with the EPA and DOE on the developing EnergyStar programs. I was also a presenter and consultant for their programs as well as to numerous product manufacturers and building performance organizations.

Our Present & Future
In 2013 I moved down to S. Florida for my family and as I also saw a great opportunity on the horizon. Since Hurricane Andrew, FL had almost solely focused on structural integrity of homes and for good reason, but they fell way behind the rest of the country on energy efficiency, IAQ (Indoor air quality) and building science. FL passed many code upgrades in 2017 that would improve this.
Today, we are a leading provider of building diagnostic testing for the new codes (i.e. Blower Door Testing) and for existing homeowners that wish to know how their home performs before they make large investments on upgrades. We also provide training seminars for many FL Code Officials at the local, county and state levels, many for their CEUs.
